At first glance, the Stuyvesant eyeglass frame looks like a classic wayfarer frame and, to some degree, it is. The plastic composition and the shape of the front is definitely wayfarer, with the added accent of elliptical studs in the outer corners. The part of the Stuyvesant that brings it to the next (more contemporary) level are the temples. They are shaped in a substantial stylized script shape. This lends the frame a distinct signature appearance.
As with the wayfarer shape, the lens is a modified square design and the material is a sturdy plastic composite, keeping its shape through the many "on-and-offs" our frames withstand. The already robust temples are further fortified with hidden metal pieces. Because of it's plastic construction, the nasal area is a mere gradient slope rising from the frame material. For all it's strength, the Stuyvesant frame rests comfortably on the face all day long.
The color choices for this frame are in keeping with it's classic shape. In sleek black or marbled tortoise, both men and women gravitate toward this frame. For a classic frame choice with a trendy kick, the Stuyvesant is an excellent choice.
