Transitions Optical informs golf players about eye health
August 25, 2010
Regular golfers spend many hours outside, particularly during the sunny summer months of the year. Transitions Optical, a lens manufacturing company, has announced that it will be opening "on-site experiences" to promote eye safety at The Barclays, part of the PGA tournament taking place this week.
At the Ridgewood Country Club, where the match is taking place, the company will assemble an interactive area for spectators which will advocate for eye health safety and demonstrate the necessity of good vision. There will also be vision experts and golf coaches there to talk one-on-one with attendees.
In addition, there will be a youth clinic that will be open to the more than 400 school-aged children who will be spectating at the event. There will be many hands-on activities, including a putting green that features vision stimulation goggles.
"By introducing this experience at the Barclays, we hope to educate even more consumers about the importance of healthy, quality sight not only in relation to sports performance, but also in their every day lives," said director of external affairs at Transition Optical, Connie Falvo.
According to the American Optometric Association, thousands of adults and children suffer an eye injury during a sporting activity. Proper eyewear can prevent such dangers.
