Tom Ford reveals new sunglasses, the Pablo model
November 19, 2009
If you usually wear your sunglasses while yachting off the coast of St. Barts, you're probably familiar with Tom Ford. The designer's high-end line boasts plenty of iconic styles with vintage appeal.
The International Business Times has recently reported that Ford released a new style of shades called the Pablo model. The sunglasses feature thick plastic lenses and a new take on the classic aviator shape.
The trendy retro specs have even been spotted on the likes of Brad Pitt. But style this nice doesn't come cheap - the glasses retail for $450.
If you fall in love with the glasses and must have them, there are two ways to justify the pricey purchase. One can rationalize that because the frames come with two sets of lenses, it's like getting two pairs of glasses in one. The first pair of lenses fit directly into the metal frame, and the other lenses snap into plastic inserts which can be attached to the sunglasses, according to the news source.
Also keep in mind that the American Optometric Association recommends wearing sunglasses with 99 percent UV protection to shield your eyes from harmful rays, which can lead to eye health problems later in life. Maybe new health care reforms will cover designer sunglasses?
