Tips to keep eyeglasses cleanKeeping the lenses of our eyeglasses clean may seem impossible, but it is essential to viewing objects properly. If the lenses are dirty, that may affect the way we see things, TVTechnology.com reports.

Wiping your glasses with your shirt will not do the trick. However, using a very soft cloth, along with some alcohol and water, can help get rid of smudges and dirt without causing damage to the lens.

You may also use a micro-fiber cloth that comes with the glasses. Always remember to keep the cloth in the eyeglasses case. If it sits out it can collect dust that could end up on your glasses.

Make sure to wipe gently and straight across the lens. Do not use household cleaners like Windex because the chemicals may do more harm than good. There are commercial eyeglass cleaners made of a specially formulated liquid and after seeing an optician, they may send you home with a free bottle.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends having a thorough eye exam conducted once every two years. Your prescription may change so it is best to have your eyes examined so that a new one can be filled for you to ensure you are using the correct prescription.ADNFCR-2615-ID-19864677-ADNFCR
