Tina Fey, Sarah Palin both make eyeglasses popular
November 17, 2009
Though Tina Fey and Sarah Palin spent the 2008 election at odds - Tina Fey's SNL impersonation of the Republican VP candidate sparked plenty of controversy - it can't be denied that the two celebs seem to rock specs pretty well.
An episode of 30 Rock wouldn't be complete if Fey was without her signature pair of rectangular, plastic framed glasses. And Palin's ensemble might have looked less sophisticated without the sleek, rimless frames that she wore throughout the election.
Palin's glasses even inspired envy among fellow "four-eyes." At the height of the political debates, USA Today reported that many consumers were clamering for the same glasses as the politician. Palin wore Kawasaki's 704 series, and in 34 gray, according to the news source. Perhaps Palin's new book, Going Rogue, will spark a similar craze this year.
So will Tina Fey continue to sport her own trademark spectacles? The star recently told People Magazine that her 30 Rock character Liz Lemon might "start taking her glasses off more and more."
