Sunglasses style guide for springLast weekend, people in the U.S. set their clocks forward an hour, meaning that we will be experiencing longer periods of sunlight. To keep your eyes safe this spring and summer, it may be time to invest in a new pair of sunglasses.

The Express Tribute recently outlined some ideas for those who are considering purchasing a new pair of sunglasses for the season. The news source reports that individuals may want to pick out their glasses depending on the shape of their face.

Those who have an oval face that is more narrow at their jaws are fortunate - they have the most options when picking out glasses. They should choose glasses that feature sharp angles, as this will pleasantly contrast the curvature of their face. Narrow frames are to be avoided "at all costs," according to the news source.

Those who have a dominant jaw line and a triangular face would be better suited to sunglasses that angle outwards at the top. Aviators are a good choice, and remain popular from season to season.

The American Optometric Association recommends glasses that screen out 75 to 90 percent of all visible light. It's also important that the lenses protect one's eyes from UV radiation.
