Sunglasses may shield eyes during a motorcycle excursion
February 17, 2010
It's hard to believe that spring will be arriving anytime soon with all of the snow some of the country has been getting, however those with eyeglasses should get ready for the warm weather and prepare to protect their frames while doing outdoor activities.
Individuals who enjoy riding motorcycles should consider wearing sunglasses to shield their eyes from harmful particles that may fly into their face. Tinted sunglasses can also help the driver see the road better, leaving a less chance of catching glare.
Polarized sunglasses are used by many outdoorsmen because the specialized lenses help block out any harmful UV rays and glare.
"Grey lenses are great for bright sunshine days whereas brown, amber and copper lenses improve both contrast and depth perception whilst reducing glare," Steve Cranie, who owns i*Sunglasses, said in a statement. "These are a good all-around choice if you expect changeable weather conditions."
According to NHTSA.dot.gov, if motorcyclists do not have a shield on their helmet, they should wear sunglasses as a form of eye protection.
