Special eyeglasses created to aid people with low vision

Although an individual may not require eyeglasses, there still may be factors that force them to look for a vision enhancing device.
For example, a number of people find that they have problems reading a low light, which is classified as low vision, or someone with a 20/60 eye reading, according to Madison, Wisconsin's ABC affiliate WKOWTV.
Many people who suffer from this eye problem turn to magnifying glasses to help them read print in a low light setting, however these devices are not always practical. Dr Jeffrey Sonsino created a pair of special eyeglasses that can help people who suffer from low vision read better.
"The glasses combine three aspects. The first is magnification, the second is a little prism to allow the eyes to stay straight instead of curving in, and the third is LED lighting," Sonsino told the news provider, adding that clinical trials saw an 89 percent improvement in reading.
According to the American Optometric Association, individuals who have a vision between 20/30 and 20/60 are still considered to have near-normal vision, which may not require them to need prescription eyeglasses.
