According to scientists, Goji berries, which are also known as Wolfberries, have an array of nutrients and antioxidants, some of which could be beneficial to eye health.
The berry contains antioxidants that can help prevent an individual from experiencing age-related issues, one of them being developing poor eye health, according to Natural News.
Among the nutrients found in the berries are zeaxanthin and lutein, both of which have been scientifically proven to help prevent age-related macular degeneration, which is the leading cause of blindness in adults over the age of 65.
According to the American Optometric Association, while lutein and zeaxanthin are known for their eye health benefits, vitamin E is also an important nutrient to incorporate into your diet that can be beneficial to your vision.
The source also reports that cataracts, which can be caused by UV rays harming the corneas for a long period of time, can be prevented with the help of lutein and zeaxanthin. It is recommended that individuals consume a dietary supplement containing 10 milligrams of the nutrient a day.
