Retro glasses make a huge comeback this year
September 29, 2010
Everywhere you look, you're likely to see someone donning a pair of retro frames on their face. According to Metro News, frames fashion is taking a cue from decades past for both men and women.
"People want to be seen," Nellie Chung, president of Novus Optical, told the news source. "They're buying thick frames in bright, bold colors - glasses you can't miss. Many are mixing and matching frames and arms of different colors, making them stand out even more."
It seems that fashionistas no long desire the quiet, minimalistic style of frames that have been popular in recent years. In 2010 it's all about big, bright and colorful eyewear.
However, older adults may not want the same styles. Chung told the news source that if an older person feels that big, heavy glasses are garish or uncomfortable, rimless glasses are a popular alternative.
AllAboutVision.com recommends that those who are shopping for new frames should consider style, color, material and functionality when picking out their glasses. Some may even choose to purchase more than one pair of glasses for various occasions.
