Real Shades are UV-protected sunglasses for children

Though most Americans might think of sun protection before spending a long day at the beach, experts warn that it's day-to-day exposure that can cause the most damage.
For example, the Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) encourages parents to make sure that along with coats and scarves, their children are outfitted with UV-protected sunglasses on wintry days.
Real Shades is a new line of sunglasses aimed at infants and children that will protect their peepers from the harmful rays of the sun.
"Recognizing that children's eyes are at special risk from the harmful effects of UV rays since their eyes are still developing and are more vulnerable to sun damage, we developed Real Kids Shades to provide serious sun protection in comfortable, kid-friendly and stylish designs," Lisa Medora of Real Kids Shade said in a statement.
The sunglasses are available with durable, polycarbonate lenses and frames with adjustable bands so that the shades can be worn comfortably and safely by children of all ages.
The American Optometric Association also encourages adults to wear sunglasses whenever they head outside during the day.
