July 12, 2010
Perry Ellis International recently announced that it has singed a licensing agreement with Oxford Ophthalmic Corp, a division of Eyewear Designs, in which they will design, manufacture and distribute men's and women's eyewear under the Cubavera brand.
"Eyewear Designs Ltd is an industry leader in the eyewear market and the right partner for adding a new product category and interpreting the Cubavera lifestyle," George Feldenkreis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perry Ellis International, said in a press release.
The line of new eyewear will include prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses as well as non-prescription frames. There will be 12 different styles, invoking a retro feel. They also feature architectural details and embroideries, leaving something for each member of the family.
The new specs will be available at optical retailers, specialty shops and department stores beginning in Fall 2010.
The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends an annual eye exam, coupled with a balanced diet, exercise and protecting our eyes from the sun's harmful rays with sunglasses to help ensure good eye health.
