Optometrist takes part in fashion week
October 6, 2010
One exhibit during this year's fashion week put the emphasis on glasses - the I've Been Framed show paired frames with fashion-forward outfits on the runway. Viki Christopoulos, who recently opened Eyepolis, held the event for 70 guests in her store, reports TMCNet.com.
"Being part of Fashion Week is so exciting," the optometrist said. "Glasses are fashionable. They are accessories for the eyes. ...Being able to combine fashion with glasses was great. To see the glasses on models with the clothing showed that glasses can be a perfect accessory."
The clothing was provided by Russian fashion designer Svetlana Abramova. Christopoulos worked with the Pittsburgh Fashion Week to create the event.
Cristopoulos herself owns 10 pairs of eyeglasses to match her many trendy outfits. She sells frames from a variety of designers located all over the world.
One model donned rimless glasses from Scandinavia while showing off threads from Get Inked. The source reports that there were glasses of all styles at the show, from retro to more modern specs.
The American Optometric Association recommends those who wear glasses visit their eye doctor for an exam at least once a year.
