Men try to stay on trend when it comes to eyeglass frames
February 16, 2010
Women are typically known for being more fashion conscious when choosing clothing and accessories, but who knew men want to choose up-to-date frames for their eyeglasses? Eyeglass frame styles are important to men, according to the Chattanooga Free Press. While more traditional men typically wait until their glasses are in need of repair, others like to stay ahead of the fashion curve. Though some men put fashion before function, it is not the norm," stylist at Epic Optical, Ange Roth, told the news provider. "With the if-it-isn't-broken-why-fix-it mentality, most men wait until something happens to their 10-year-old spectacles to actually consider buying a new pair." Among the popular styles for men are large, bold frames and masculine shapes such as aviators. According to AskMen.com, many males are also favoring plastic frames, as they're seen as hip and don't usually have a hefty price tag. Wireless rims are an option for the more traditional man. The site also specifies that men tend to model their glasses after what they feel looks best on them, rather than their favorite celebrity.
