Marina Diamandis dons an interesting pair of sunglasses
July 30, 2010
Marina Diamandis, of the band Marina and The Diamonds, was recently spotted walking through London wearing a unique pair of sunglasses, OK! Magazine reports.
The singer paired her t-shirt and black maxi skirt with a pair of antenna sunglasses. The shades had mini television antennas coming out from the corners of the frames. She completed the look with tan heels and a bright pink handbag.
Diamandis certainly has an original sense of style, and is giving current queen of sunglasses, Lady Gaga, a run for her money in the eyewear accessory department.
Of course, sunglasses serve a practical function as well. They are one of the first lines of protection against damage that may be done by harmful UV rays from the sun.
The American Optometric Association recommends investing in sunglasses that block out 99 to 100 percent of UV rays. If you're unsure if your sunglasses meet this criteria, many eye care professionals may be able to perform a test to measure how strong they are in the blocking department by using a special laser.
