Low-cost eyeglasses program is back in Pennsylvania

The program offers eyeglasses at a low costAlthough many people understand the importance of taking care of their vision, some may not have the luxury of being able to afford things such as eyeglasses in order to properly see. However, there are programs available to local communities that help bring affordable eye care to those who need it most.

The North Western PA Optical Clinic (NWPOC) has brought back its low-cost eyeglasses program to the public, according to the Pike County Courier News. This program is available to people of all ages who otherwise would not be able to afford eyeglasses.

However, eligible participants must meet the income guidelines which consist of making $21,032 or less for a one-person family, $27,992 or less for a two-person family, $34,952 for groups less than three and $41,912 for a family of four.

According to the American Optometric Association, eyeglasses can be used to treat conditions such as hyperopia and myopia, otherwise known as nearsightedness and farsightedness.
