Was Kiera Knightly in disguise or does the glamorous actress really need prescription eyeglasses? According to The Daily Mail, the 24-year-old Brit was spotted stomping around London wearing spectacles with large black plastic frames.

Though it's rare to see celebs without a pair of stylish sunglasses, it seems like most actors opt for contacts when it comes to correcting their vision.

What stars brave taunts of "four-eyes" and and don the real deal? Johnny Depp has made thick brown eyeglasses one of his signature affects, and Tina Fey's plastic specs are a cornerstone of her smart and sexy Liz Lemon persona.

Hipster and fashion plate Zooey Deschanel, who recently appeared in the film 500 Days of Summer, has been known to rock the librarian look. Even style icon Marilyn Monroe donned a pair of reading glasses on occasion.

And remember, just because your frames are current doesn't mean your prescription is. The American Optometric Association recommends that adults visit an eye care professional at least once every two years to monitor their vision and maintain their eye health.
