High definition lenses can improve visionThose who wear eyeglasses know that the quality of the lens can make a big difference in one's sight. There are several different types of lenses that can provide glasses wearers with sharper vision, according to Empowher.com.

Free form lenses are designed to accommodate the variations individuals have in the angles of their face. Because eyes may sit at different spots, these digitally created lenses are positioned so that they are comfortably distanced from each individual eye.

Wavefront lenses are created using information acquired from a special eye test that measures the way light reflects off the retina of one's eyes. The lenses are created to match the personalized specifications garnered from the test, providing the wearer with brighter colors, advanced depth perception and crisper vision.

Both types of advanced lenses are described as high definition, because they enhance vision, much like a high definition television. The news provider reports that almost anyone who wears glasses is a candidate for these lenses.

According to the American Optometric Association, regular eye exams are essential for eye health, as a visit to the eye doctor may help find vision problems before they cause serious damage.
