Girl suffered from unexplained headaches, nausea because of wrong prescription eyeglasses

It is important for individuals to get their vision examined on a regular basis to ensure that they are still in good eye health. However, patients may be wise to do some research before making an appointment with an eye doctor, as a misdiagnosis could create a different set of problems.
A 7-year-old girl from the UK suffered from unexplained headaches and nausea for more than two years until she had a routine eye exam that discovered she had been given the wrong prescription lenses, according to Fox News.
"We'd wondered why her eyesight wasn't getting better. I'd thought several times the glasses didn't seem to be doing much good at all," Tayla Don's mother, Beverly, told the news provider.
Don had originally brought her daughter's eyeglasses back to the store when she noticed symptoms occurring, but the staff insisted that it was normal for individuals to experience those feelings when first trying glasses and that they would pass. Don has since been given a new pair of prescription eyeglasses and a complimentary bottle of lens cleaner.
According to All About Vision, when purchasing children's eyeglasses, it's best to take note of lens thickness to ensure they won't cause blurriness towards the edges if the prescription does not call for thick lenses.
