As with most fashions, current trends often build themselves off of retro looks. Sunglass frame styles are no exception. Taking a page out of John Lennon's book, round sunglasses are back in style thanks to celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny and Lady Gaga, who have been spotted wearing the circular frames.

While an array of tinted sunglasses styles are on fashionista's must-have lists, the round frames are proving to be the front-runner for an effortlessly-cool style, according to the Telegraph. There are variants of how round the glasses should be, but style experts suggest that fully circular frames are the epitome of fashion.

The news provider reports that Lady Gaga, known for her avant-garde fashion sense, was one of the first celebrities to be seen rocking this look back in 2008. Since then, many other starlets have followed in her example.

Even if circular frames are not right for your face shape, it's important to wear tinted sunglasses to ensure you are not doing permanent damage to your eyes. According to the American Optometric Association, conditions such as cataracts can be caused by frequent exposure to UV rays.
