Eyeglasses stores employ eye-opening display techniques
July 30, 2010
There has been a recent rise in eyewear stores that are doing more than offering a stale environment for consumers to try on eyeglasses, The Villager reports.
The news source spotlighted a boutique in New York City that has done away with the static environment of bright lights and awkward technicians decked out in lab coats. The space is more reminiscent of an art gallery, with the sunglasses and other eyewear on prime display.
"If you take a look around, we just don't want people to come in, get their glasses and leave," Jason Hart, an optician at the boutique, told the news provider. "We want people to be inspired by the space and to really have a ball trying on different pieces."
Individuals are encouraged to try on several different pairs and see what works best on their face.
"We really celebrate masters of eyewear design here," owner Juli Santiago told the news outlet. "I believe that glasses or sunglasses direct you to a way of life, change your mood, dictate confidence and make you whole."
