Emporio Armani goes retro with new line of tinted sunglasses
March 10, 2010
In terms of fashion, everything is clinical. Right now, the retro look is a huge trend, and tinted sunglasses are no exception.
The 2010 Emporio Armani eyewear collection is reminiscent of 1960's era, according to FashionAndRunway.com. The line of tinted sunglasses is heavy on the metal frames and aviator styles while the prescription eyeglasses line offer an array of rectangular shapes and different color contrasts on the plastic frames.
The women's sunglass line makes a statement by using bright colors on the front frames in hues like shocking pink and bright orange.
While many people view tinted sunglasses as more of a fashion statement than a necessity, the accessory can also help preserve eye health. According to the American Optometric Association, cataracts, which generally affect people over the age of 55, can be caused by the eye's frequent exposure to sunlight.
Wearing sunglasses may be able to protect the eyes against developing cataracts, as the tinted lenses help block harmful UV rays.
