Elton John and Lady GaGa shield their eyes with tinted sunglasses at Grammys

What happens when you take two of the most eccentric performers and have them do a duet? You get a fashion faceoff.

The Grammy duet between Elton John and Lady GaGa was nothing short of eye-catching, literally. The two divas sported custom-made Giorgio Armani sunglasses encrusted with Swarovski crystals, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The shades were created to match the signers' ensembles - John in a crystallized suit, and GaGa sporting a similarly sparkly ensemble with accentuated shoulders.

These two are known for their love of sunglasses. John has been seen in some of the wackiest creations imaginable, and GaGa favors her Mickey Mouse frames by Jeremy Scott. She even gave a pair of Jean Paul Gaultier sunglasses as a present to talk show queen Oprah Winfrey for having her as a guest.

While these stylish glasses may be a little over-the-top, sunglasses are still important for eye health. According to All About Vision, tinted sunglasses can help protect eyes against harmful UV rays that could lead to cataracts later in life.
