Brad Pitt sports 18K gold polarized sunglasses

While his partner Angelina Jolie has been busy in Venice, Italy, filming her new movie The Tourist, Brad Pitt has been doing some touring of his own, behind a pair of very expensive tinted sunglasses.
Pitt has been seen by countless paparazzi taking gondola rides with his children and enjoying the sights of the Italian city while wearing a pair of $580 Dolce and Gabbanna Sunglasses, according to Luxist.com.
The Gold Edition aviator-style tinted sunglasses are plated in 18K gold, which could explain the hefty price tag. The lenses are polarized, which may help prevent the unwanted glare that comes from the light reflection off the Venetian canals.
The glasses are considered a piece of art, and are sold in a jewelry case that features a plaque with the name of the glasses, two tiny drawers for a cleaning cloth, a certificate of authenticity and a black leather case for traveling.
Although most people do not have Brad Pitt's enviable bank account, it's still a good idea to purchase a pair of tinted sunglasses in order to keep eye health in check. According to the American Optometric Association, individuals with heavy exposure to sunlight who don't protect their peepers may be at a higher risk of developing cataracts later in life.
