Be seen in stylish sunglasses, Gucci launches Eyeweb
October 20, 2009
Can you see yourself in Gucci sunglasses? Well, now everyone else can too. Gucci has launched an interactive platform that allows fans to send in pics of themselves in their favorite Gucci frames.
Taking a cue from the popularity of social media sites and viral advertising, the Italian line has designed their new multimedia campaign to appeal to younger consumers
The site uploads the submitted photos to appear in the lenses of their latest styles.
The platform is called Eyeweb and features sections for the fashion hot spots of New York, Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin and London, StyleList.com reports.
The line currently offers a male and female version of the style, each available in six different colors. There are three new styles slated to be introduced in spring 2010, Grazia reports.
The new line was created by designer Frida Giannini, who says, "I designed these sunglasses and the accompanying social networking site with today's digital generation in mind," according to the news source.
Stylish sunglasses are a fun way to protect your eyes. The American Optometric Association recommends wearing sunglasses whenever you are outside to reduce your exposure to UV rays. Sporting stylish shades could reduce your risk of developing cataracts or macular degeneration, the two leading causes of blindness in the U.S.
