Barbie gets a new pair of eyeglasses for her new job as a computer engineer

Apparently, people believe that technology jobs are all the rage right now. Perhaps this is why when the public was asked to choose Barbie's 125th profession, voters decided upon computer engineer Barbie.

That's right, Barbie is now all brains, according to Chicago's ABC affiliate, WLS-TV. In addition to wearing a blazer and carrying a pink laptop, the new Barbie also sports some sassy pink eyeglasses, presumably to let everyone know how smart she is.

Many blogs are discussing whether this new Barbie is pushing boundaries to show girls it's okay to be smart, or wondering if this is just a clever marketing ploy to make the product more relevant.

Whichever the case, it may show girls with prescription eyeglasses that it's okay if they're forced to wear frames, Barbie still manages to pull off the look with exceptional glamour.

According to the American Optometric Association, young girls should get their eyes checked every other year to watch out for various eye diseases and monitor their vision.
