Adjust eyeglasses with the turn of a knob
July 13, 2010
Instead of having to carry around more than one pair of eyeglasses when you need to change the distance of what you're looking at, there are new glasses that allow you to change the strength with the turn of a knob, DesignTaxi.com reports.
The eyeglasses, created by a technology company that specializes in the development of focus lenses, were created to make for easy vision correction without having to use a different pair.
The 'Fluid-Filled Lenses' have a liquid that allow wearers to adjust the focal length of their corrective lenses by just turning a dial at both ends of the eyeglasses.
The creators do acknowledge that the glasses may need to be sent in for a regular tune-up because of the fluid inside of the lenses.
The American Optometric Association (AOA) suggests patients have a thorough eye exam conducted annually. Individuals who currently wear eyeglasses should see their eye care provider regularly in case there is change in their eye health, which would result in a new prescription.
