  1. What do I need to do to get my glasses ordered?

All you need is your prescription and your pupillary distance (PD). See About Your Rx if you need help. Outside of any special circumstances, your doctor will readily give this to you upon request if you can't find it. It's the law in all 50 states.

  2. How long does it take to receive my eyeglasses?

As early as the next day! See our Shipping page for full details. Anti-reflective coatings on bifocals, sunglasses, or Transitions® Lenses typically take an extra day or two to custom-coat your individual pair.

  3. I've ordered before but don't know my Username/Password. What's the fastest way to get it?

Click the Log In tab all the way at the top of the toolbar. If you don't know your account information, there is a link to get it.

  4. Do you carry Transitions® Lenses?

Yes! When you are on page 2 for any frame style, under Clear Inside/Dark Outside Lenses. You can see a full list of the lenses we offer on the website by going to About Our Lenses.

  5. What about bendable titanium glasses, or glasses with rimless frames?

Yes! Both are listed under Eyeglasses & Sunglasses on the above toolbar.

  6. What about bifocals or progressive lenses?

We are proud to offer both regular bifocals and progressives "no-line bifocals." We have several different options available. However, if you need a specific lens type or brand you don't see on the order page, contact us & we'll gladly provide you with a discount price.

  7. My prescription is outside the listed available range. Can I still get high-quality eyeglasses at similar savings?

Yes! Special orders, like very high prescriptions are handled on a case-by-case basis. For a price quote for your Rx, or for a lens type not listed on the website, please contact us.

  8. I noticed some size numbers for the frames. What do they mean?

They are measurements in mm (millimeters). Click here for a detailed description.

  9. Do you have any type of rewards program?

Yes! Click for details on our Loyalty Rewards program.

  10. What if my frames need minor adjustment after I receive them?

All frames are thoroughly inspected and aligned prior to shipping. If you need a minor adjustment, most optical stores will do it for free.

  11. What if I entered some information incorrectly?

Immediately call or send an email alerting us because we process orders very rapidly. For this reason we ask you to please double-check your prescription and shipping information prior to submitting your order.

  12. What is your guarantee policy?

Prior to shipping, each pair of eyeglasses is inspected by a certified technician to ensure the accuracy of the prescription and proper alignment of the frame. Further, they are packaged in an attractive hard case for protection. In the unlikely event that your glasses arrive with a defect, we will replace them completely free of charge.

In the unlikely event your new glasses need to be remade for reasons beyond our control (e.g. your doctor changes your prescription, you would like to select a different style, or if you accidentally enter incorrect prescription information), we will gladly do so for only $14.95 plus shipping/packaging (plus 50% of the purchase price above $39.00 if applicable). We do this only to ensure our ability to continue to provide the public with the lowest-priced, high-quality prescription glasses anywhere.

  13. Can I get reimbursed from my insurance company or optical plan?

Check with your provider to see what their reimbursement policy is. If you need our Tax-ID Number (TIN) for this, let us know when you place your order and we'll be happy to provide it.

  14. I only have a prescription for contact lenses. Can I use that?

While your contact lens and eyeglasses prescriptions may seem the same, they usually have some differences (even if they seem minor to you). We recommend you get your eyeglass prescription from your doctor. You should really have a copy of it anyway.

  15. My PD was measured for me but there's more than one number. Now what?

If you have two different numbers you have either been given both the Distance/Reading or Right Eye/Left Eye. If the numbers are higher (and different), like to 62/59, then the first number is your Distance PD and the second is your Near PD (for reading-only glasses). If the two numbers are lower, like 30.5/31.5, then you had someone take your PD one eye at a time (called "monocular PD"). The first number is for the right eye (O.D.) and the second number is for the left eye (O.S.). If you have a monocular PD available, put it in the "Customer notes:" section of the order form and we'll use it.

  16. My prescription doesn't have anything written for CYL or AXIS or ADD. What should I enter?

You can leave those fields blank. Cylinder and Axis are for astigmatism correction. If your doctor didn't write it in, you don't have to either. The Add power is for people (typically over 40) who now have different prescriptions for distance and near vision. Younger people don't have trouble up close with their distance prescription on, so their Add is technically zero; in actuality, it's just not written at all. If you don't have an add on your Rx, or if you want distance-only glasses, leave those fields blank.

  17. Can I just order frames/lenses with no prescription in them?

Yes! You'll need to enter PLANO for the sphere (SPH) powers, so we don't think you "just forgot" to enter any prescription at all.

  18. What are the index of refractions for your lenses?

    CR39 Hard-Resin Sun Lenses = 1.49
    Polycarbonate Lenses = 1.59
    Super-High Index Lenses = 1.67

  19. Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses or other P.O. Boxes?

Yes! We use the US Postal Service for most of our orders, so it's no problem at all.

  20. Can I use my Flexible Spending dollars on eyeglasses at 39DollarGlasses.com?

Yes! Prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses are FSA eligible. For more information, click here.
