Time to Celebrate
This past Monday, June 6, 2016 was National Eyewear Day! The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate the creation of glasses that many of us wear everyday to keep our vision clear and our style sharp. Glasses have been around for nearly seven centuries and more and more people are beginning to wear them. Unfortunately, the cost of eyewear can be very expensive and unaffordable for many.
Our company strongly believes that a person’s quality of life should not be hindered by financial difficulties. The high cost of eyewear should never deter anyone from improving their quality of health, and that’s why 39DollarGlasses.com is proud to donate over $600,000.00 worth of eyeglasses each year for those who cannot afford eyewear.
Offering Affordable Eyewear
The lack of vision correctness is especially significant for children. A lack of proper eyewear can greatly affect a child’s ability to learn in school. For this reason, we have worked with various organizations and schools that dedicate their time to providing eyeglasses for children.
39DollarGlasses has worked with New York City public schools and the Kress Vision Program to help provide free eye exams and eyeglasses for children in need. We have worked with Helen Keller International, a first-class organization that has helped us tremendously in providing 500 pairs of new eyeglasses to children. It’s this part of our job that reminds us why we were founded and how important it is to give back to our local communities.
All our glasses we donate to children are the same glasses we sell and are made with polycarbonate lenses, the only lenses that are doctor recommended for kids under 18. Our lenses are impact resistant, ultra-light and 30% thinner than most lenses. We also offer AR coating on our lenses which helps prevent reflective glare. Our newest addition is our Blue Light Blocking Premium Anti-Reflective coating, which helps shield your eyes from harmful blue light from computer, tablet and TV screens. We will continue to make strides in providing affordable eyewear to those in need as well as look for ways to improve our the quality and safety of our glasses.
Thankful for Eyewear
Our glasses help define who we are as people. They can add to our style, personality and overall quality of life. Actors, musicians, politicians and doctors all around the world would never be the same without their eyewear. From the beginning days of Benjamin Franklin to JFK’s famous black wayfarers and even Clark Kent’s thick-framed specs, something would be missing without the stylish and memorable power of eyewear. Happy National Eyewear Day to all our 39ers!
