John recently told BBC Radio 2 that instead of spending his money on high-tech gadgets, he prefers buying eyeglasses. Think of how much money he would have saved if he had bought them all from 39DollarGlasses!
“I don’t have a iPod or a mobile phone or a computer. I do have a quarter of a million pairs of glasses but I don’t even have a mobile phone,” he told the radio network. “If people want to get hold of me they can. The internet doesn’t interest me either apart from getting sports scores.”
Throughout his career, the 63-year old singer has been photographed wearing oversized, outrageous glasses with lenses tinted almost every color of the rainbow.
However, now that he’s in his 60s, the crooner may want to invest in glasses that protect his vision as well as make a fashion statement.
According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), individuals over the age of 60 need to be attentive to warning signs of age-related eye health problems that could cause vision loss, as many eye diseases have no early symptoms.
The AOA recommends that individuals in their 60s have an eye exam at least once a year.
