August Marks Children’s Eye Health & Safety Month

August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month, and in observance of the event parents may consider taking their child to an eye care professional for a vision screening and ocular health evaluation.

According to Prevent Blindness America (PBA), amblyopia, a condition that may affect 2 to 3 percent of children and could lead to vision loss, is of particular concern.

PBA has created the Star Pupils Program, an initiative which aims to instruct parents as to the best way to ensure that their children are seeing clearly and enjoying good eye health overall.

Ensuring that children have good eyesight is important for a number of reasons. Good vision may be imperative to success in school and sports.

Parents who are looking for tips on the subject can visit the project’s website, The Children and Eye Problems Web Discussion Forum. In addition to general information, the online space will provide a place for parents to share their experiences and offer each other with emotional support, according to HealthNewsDigest.com.

The American Optometric Association recommends that school-aged children receive a thorough eye exam once every two years and that student athletes wear protective safety glasses when participating in contact sports.

For what its worth, the layout is definitely amazing. You know how to balance writing and images/videos. However, I cant get over how little you actually bring to light here. I think that everyones said the same thing that youve said over and over again. Dont you think its time for something more?
